Edward writes: The weather forecast for today and indeed for the next few days was for lots of rain and consequently only eight arrived at Haslingfield Green for the ride out to Gamlingay and then on to Bedford to see the Friends Life Women's Tour.However, this was not to be as soon after starting the weather forecast fulfilled its promise and it started to rain and soon we were all wet, uncomfortable and bedraggled and so the consensus was that we should call it a day after coffee in Gamlingay.
We took the most direct route out through Barrington, Wimpole Hall, Croydon Hill and through the Hatleys before arriving at LJ’s Sandwich Bar in Gamlingay for coffee and their very popular bacon sarnies.
We came home via Waresley, Little Gransden and Longstowe which, back to Haslingfield gave us 33 miles, and it was still raining! Edward Elmer
