We dropped down the hill and turned right onto Royston Lane before turning left to Elmdon. From here we climbed and then dropped down again to Chrishall Grange.
We arrived at the Green Man in Thriplow at 8.15, fifteen minutes early. Last time we had visited this pub the chef had been sick and there was no food, but today a full menu was in operation. We ordered drinks and bowls of chips which we enjoyed whilst sitting outside in the final minutes of sunshine. We decided we rather like this pub: it is very friendly, the food looks good and we can sit outside in a tranquil village setting. We will be back next month.
Afterwards we returned back to Cambridge via Newston, Harston, Trumpington P&R and the busway cycleway once more. I was home by 9.30pm, having cycled 32 miles.
